The Governor's Park neighborhood is anchored by the Governor's Mansion at 400 East 8th Avenue. The Georgian Revival mansion was built in 1908 and deeded to the state in 1959, and every governor since 1960 has occupied the mansion except for Bill Owens. Special events are held in the mansion and free tours are offered June through August. The area offers many popular restaurants and businesses, particulary along Sixth Avenue.
